Introduction
Keeper ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Raijin Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Keeper mobile application ("the App").
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Keeper is a personal and family product, and we treat your data with the care and respect it deserves.
What Data We Collect
Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email associated with that account.
Profile information: Your preferred parent name (e.g. "Mum", "Dad") which is displayed to your family members.
Content you create: All entries you add to Keeper, including text (stories, recipes, life lessons, traditions), photos, captions, dates, and people tags. This is the core of what Keeper stores for you.
Family sharing information: Names, email addresses, and relationship labels of family members you invite to view your collection.
Device information: Device type, operating system version, and a unique device identifier for push notification delivery.
Usage data: We collect anonymised analytics data about how you use the App, including which features you use, how often you open the App, and your subscription status. This data is collected via PostHog and is used solely to improve the App. It is not sold or shared with advertisers.
Crash reports: If the App crashes, we collect anonymised technical information about the crash via Sentry to help us fix bugs. This does not include your personal content.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your location data
- We do not read or analyse the content of your entries for advertising purposes
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever
- We do not use your data to train AI models
- We do not share your personal content with anyone other than the family members you explicitly invite
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the Keeper service — storing your memories, displaying them to you and your invited family members
- To process your subscription payments (via Apple's App Store — we do not see or store your payment card details)
- To send you push notifications if you have opted in (weekly prompts, seasonal suggestions, family activity updates)
- To improve the App through anonymised usage analytics
- To fix bugs and prevent crashes through anonymised error reporting
- To respond to your support requests
Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored securely on servers provided by Supabase, located in the European Union. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Photos you upload are stored in secure cloud storage provided by Supabase, also located in the European Union.
Who Can See Your Data
- You can see all of your own content
- Family members you invite can see your entries in read-only mode. They cannot edit, delete, or download your content. You control who has access and can remove family members at any time
- Our team may access your data only if required to provide technical support you have requested, or to comply with a legal obligation. We will never browse your content without cause
- No one else. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes
Data Retention
Your data is stored for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all of your data — including entries, photos, and family connections — is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.
Your Rights Under GDPR
As a user in the UK or EU, you have the following rights:
- Access: You can request a copy of all your personal data at any time by using the data export feature in the App
- Correction: You can edit your profile information and entries directly within the App
- Deletion: You can delete individual entries or your entire account from within the App. Account deletion permanently removes all associated data
- Portability: You can export all your data as a downloadable file using the export feature in Settings
- Objection: You can opt out of push notifications at any time in your device settings or within the App
- Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled
Children's Privacy
Keeper is designed for adults (parents) to create content for their families. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Family members who access a parent's collection must be at least 16 years of age.
Cookies and Tracking
The Keeper App does not use cookies. We use PostHog for anonymised product analytics and Sentry for crash reporting. Neither of these services tracks you across other apps or websites.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you within the App. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
